“UWB technology has received much attention this year for its streaming media capabilities. Three companies in particular–XtremeSpectrum, Time Domain and General Atomics are focusing their UWB solutions around the personal area network (PAN) market for the home. In-Stat/MDR expects UWB will be embedded in some home theater equipment, such as high-end displays, beginning in 2004, with UWB going into devices such as MP3 players and other lower-cost consumer electronics goods at later stages.
