Samsung’s World First “Optical Joystick” Phone

“‘Samsung has taken the world of mobile technology by surprise once again with the launch of the new Samsung V960, which promises to revolutionise the way users interact with menus on mobile phones. The new “Optical Joystick” will allow users to navigate through the menu by moving a cursor with their finger, similar to a mouse’s cursor on a PC. Optical sensors will read and react to user’s finger movement, given the user a complete hassle free navigation. It looks like this is the end of the four-way navigation system used on the majority of mobile phones in the market.
Users will be able to click directly on icons that appear on My Screen, gaining access to frequently used menus such as photo album, messaging and music menu”… <More>
