Sudan trained the actors, directors, and technicians who built a golden age of cinema and theatre -- then lost the schools, the studios, and now the buildings themselves. Nigeria, South Korea, India, Ghana, and Rwanda each built a creative industry from a comparable or worse starting point. The economics of doing the same in Sudan are larger than they look.
